Rexha said that she first sent "Satellite" to Snoop over Instagram. "Working with Snoop is a dream," she said.
"He contacted me around 7:00 the following morning and said, 'Yo, check your email,' while holding a large blunt in his palm. You have an email, she remembered saying."
Snoop had added his verse to the song and handed it back to Rexha, who reported this.
On the day when the music video's opening sequence was being filmed, something remarkable occurred, realizing her ambition of working with Snoop.
Snoop brought joints to the set and forced Rexha to smoke one as well.
"He says, 'You have to try my Death Row Joints,' and I respond, 'Right now, on the video set?"
"I'm going to take a close look at the footage. "I was like, 'Okay,' when he said, 'Just try it,'" recalled Rexha.
"I took a hit of it, and Snoop Dogg and I became so high. But who could claim to have taken Snoop Dogg's joints?" She continued, "That's like a lifetime thing."
